Now what in the world can the Moulin Rouge have to do with God? Sure, I can give the lame answer and say everything has to do with God. But let me talk a little bit about the movie first and then I'll tie it together, I swear. I finally saw the Moulin Rouge at the UCSD movie theater about a week ago. To be honest, I thought it was a really good movie. It was much funnier and directed much better than I thought it would be. The drama portions were fairly well done. But the thing that was the best beyond the best was Ewan McGregor singing. Everytime he belted out a song, I was just like "this movie is so good". Now I understand why the Calvary guys are so obsessed with this movie. I remember Henry said that Roy had told him not to see it because it causes love sickness. As if it's not hard enough to not chase girls. But yea. During the movie, something, but not that, dawned upon me. First, here's some lyrics from the movie. It's so good and I swear I'm not a pansy.

Sigh...doesn't that make you want to just go off and fall in love?! No? Good. So anyone who watched this saw how great and wonderful love is and how a significant other can be just about the greatest thing in the world. But the thing that the crazy love from the Moulin Rouge showed me is that God created this love. And that if this love is something I so desperately want and so fervishly chase after, then how much more so should I be chasing after God's love. Because if love between a man and a woman can be so great, then how much more aweseome and perfect is the love that we have been given from God! If only we accept it...Gosh. Even the song above can easily be a song praising God! He gives us a new outlook, meaning, and an abundance of love. Love is to the benefit of the object of affection. Thus, God loves us not to His benefit but to ours, and our love for Him should be likewise. But seriously, the emotions that the movie or the soundtrack can evoke within us, how much more should we be moved by the knowledge of the infinitely greater love that is waiting for us. AAAAAAAA!!! I seriously can't even come up with the words. Just yea, God is so good and so awesome. He's really been so great to me during my stay at UCSD.
